Windforest: Follies aan zee
The poles in the installation were once forest. The combination of the sound that is reproduced through the metal pipes on the tallest poles tell us about the sound of the wind that once was in contact with those trees. The forest in us is a clearance in the woods, a place to visit and a stage for life. The scenery is created with 130 tree trunks arranged in a malleable grid that allows the clearance inside and the manipulation of the entrances in the design. The clearance is accessible and can be visited or staged for different events. The poles are in different length recreating a landscape from which visuals can escape. The 35 tallest poles are combined with the metal pipes to reproduce the sound of the wind. The follie is created from real trunks that are hired for this event only meaning no waste is left behind.
